What we keep, and what we don't

Last updated 25 October 2026. Devault ASCII is a free tool from Devault.

Your pictures and videos

Never leave your browser. The conversion happens on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and we never see your files or their names.

Your account

Saving an image or video, and downloading from the library, needs a free account. If you make one we keep:

  • your e-mail address;
  • if you sign up with a password, only a scrambled (salted and hashed) version of it, never the password itself;
  • if you use Google, the name Google gives us and Google's own id for you (never your Google password); your Google profile picture is shown in your own browser, straight from Google, and we do not keep it;
  • when you signed up and last signed in.

We use this to let you sign in and for nothing else. We do not sell it or pass it on. You can ask us to delete your account and everything we keep about you at any time (see "Questions" below).

Counting visits

We count visits and clicks on our own buttons, to see what is useful. This sets no cookies and stores no IP address. It records the page, the site you came from, your country and whether you are on a phone or a computer, plus a one-way code that changes every month so one person is counted once and cannot be identified. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control, you are not counted.

Cookies and storage

There are no cookies. When you sign in, the browser keeps a sign-in token in its own storage so you stay signed in for 30 days; "Sign out" removes it.

Who else is involved

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps the account and visit data on our behalf.
  • Google, only if you choose "Continue with Google": the button loads from Google, and Google tells us who you are. Google's own privacy policy applies to that part.

Questions, or deleting your account

Write to us through devault.design and say which e-mail address your account uses. We will delete it.

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
